Stacey and Sarah’s Halloween wedding at Twelve Pillars in Bunbury was bold, emotional, unforgettable and completely true to who they are as a couple.
Married on October 31st, 2025, their wedding embraced the theme “’til death do us part” in the most stylish and personal way. From skeleton hands on their cake to a coffin-shaped ring box, black and red bouquets, and black umbrellas ready for the rain, every detail reflected their shared love of horror movies and the story that brought them together.
As a Bunbury wedding photographer, I love when couples lean fully into what makes them them. Stacey and Sarah met on a dating app and instantly bonded over their mutual love of horror films. That shared passion set the tone for a wedding day that felt playful, meaningful and unapologetically unique.
A Ceremony Entrance to Remember
One of the most unforgettable moments of the day happened before the ceremony even began.
Instead of arriving separately, Stacey and Sarah pulled up together in a hearse — a perfect nod to their Halloween theme. Before walking down the aisle, they shared a shot together, laughing and soaking in the moment before saying their vows.
With around 30 of their closest friends and family gathered, the ceremony felt intimate and deeply personal. There were tears, laughter and that kind of energy that only comes when everyone present truly knows and loves the couple.
As a Bunbury wedding photographer, these are the moments I live for — the genuine emotion, the quiet hand squeezes, the shared glances that say everything without words.
Rain, Pillars and Red Smoke
True to late October in the South West, rain made an appearance — but instead of dampening the mood, it added drama.
Under black umbrellas, Stacey and Sarah walked hand in hand between the iconic pillars at Twelve Pillars. The moody skies and soft rain created the most incredible atmosphere for portraits.
Then came the red smoke bomb.
Against the grey sky and dark tones of their styling, the red smoke added a bold, cinematic touch to their bridal portraits. It was dramatic, romantic and completely in line with their Halloween vision.
These are the kinds of creative moments that make being a Bunbury wedding photographer so exciting — no two weddings are ever the same, and when couples trust you to lean into their vision, magic happens.
Portraits Overlooking Bunbury
After the ceremony, we headed to a nearby national park for portraits overlooking the rolling hills and Bunbury itself.
The view was breathtaking, and despite the rain earlier, the landscape felt fresh and vibrant. The contrast between the natural greens of the hills and their black and red styling was stunning.
With space to slow down, laugh and just be together, Stacey and Sarah’s portraits felt relaxed and effortless. You could see how deeply connected they are — not just partners, but best friends.
Back at home, their beautiful little poodle (their fur baby and pride and joy) was undoubtedly waiting for them, but in those moments overlooking Bunbury, it was just the two of them and the start of their next chapter.
Planning a Bunbury Wedding?
Bunbury is such a special place to get married. Whether you’re planning a themed celebration like Stacey and Sarah or something completely different, the South West offers stunning natural backdrops, versatile venues and a relaxed atmosphere that allows couples to truly enjoy their day.
Twelve Pillars in particular provides a beautiful setting for both ceremonies and portraits, especially when paired with nearby locations for scenic photography.
If you’re planning your own wedding in the area, working with a local Bunbury wedding photographer means having someone who understands the light, the venues and how to keep the day flowing smoothly — rain or shine.
