An all-in-one Dwellingup wedding venue
Planning a wedding involves approximately seven million moving parts. Okay, slight exaggeration. But sometimes it certainly feels that way! 😂One of the biggest things that can affect a wedding day timeline is travel. Getting from your accommodation to the ceremony, then moving everyone to another location for photos, getting to the reception, arranging transport for guests and eventually working out how everyone is getting back to their accommodation after celebrating all night. Every trip needs time built into your wedding day, and every trip is another opportunity for something to run late. At Jarrahfall, you can take almost all of that out of the equation. You can get ready, have your ceremony, take your wedding photos, celebrate at your reception and sleep onsite, without spending your wedding day travelling from Point A to Point B. And yes, as a photographer, I am absolutely going to point out what this means…

But more importantly, it means more time to actually enjoy your wedding day. You don’t need to disappear from your guests for ages. You don’t need to rush getting ready because you have a 30 minute drive to the ceremony. And at the end of the night, nobody has to figure out how they’re getting back to their accommodation after perhaps one too many celebratory drinks. You can simply walk back to bed!
Everyone can stay right there with you
One thing that really stands out about Jarrahfall is just how much space there is. Even with 150 guests around the property, it never feels crowded or cramped. Everything is spread out, there’s room to breathe, and because accommodation is available onsite, your guests can make a proper weekend of it with you. That changes the feeling of a wedding. Instead of everyone arriving just before the ceremony and disappearing at the end of the night, your favourite people can actually settle in and enjoy being there. Having accommodation onsite is especially handy for the people you want around you while you’re getting ready. Your closest friends and family don’t need to start watching the clock and worrying about when they need to leave for the ceremony. They’re already there. Which also means you can have that sneaky getting-ready mimosa without worrying about who’s driving. 🥂

When you’ve got acres of beautiful property to work with, you’re certainly not short on ceremony options. You could choose to have your ceremony along the Bibbulmun Track, surrounded by towering jarrah trees that create an almost cathedral-like backdrop. If you love something more open, the oval gives you a beautiful grassed ceremony location surrounded by bushland. And because Western Australian weather occasionally likes to throw everyone’s plans directly out the window, there’s also the option of using the reception hall for a weather friendly ceremony. Having so many different spaces to choose from also makes it an incredible venue to photograph. You’re not relying on one tiny patch of the property being perfect. There are so many different spaces that the day can adapt to the weather, the light and what you actually want your wedding to feel like.
The reception space
The reception hall gives you a beautiful indoor space to celebrate, but it doesn’t mean everyone has to stay inside all night. There’s a gorgeous outdoor area surrounding the hall, and once the festoon lights come on, the indoor and outdoor spaces work together beautifully. It also gives me plenty of opportunities to keep photographing everything happening throughout the night, whether everyone is inside celebrating or spilling outside for drinks, conversations, fresh air, or gathering around the fire pit. If an outdoor reception is more your style, there’s a large space outside the reception hall where you could even set up a marquee and create a beautiful garden style reception surrounded by the bush. Another little practical bonus of having your ceremony and reception in the same place is decor. If you’ve invested in beautiful florals or styling for your ceremony and want to reuse them at the reception, they don’t need to be packed into cars and driven somewhere else.They can simply be carried over. Quick. Easy. Done.
From a wedding photographer’s point of view…
Jarrahfall is an absolute playground for wedding photos! You’ve got tall jarrah and marri trees, dense bushland, open spaces, grassed areas and beautiful pockets of light throughout the property. It gives us plenty of variety without needing to leave the venue. It also gives us flexibility. If the weather changes or the light isn’t quite doing what we’d hoped in one area, there are plenty of other locations we can use. We’re not stuck with one photo spot and crossing every finger and toe that the conditions cooperate, and because we haven’t had to factor travel into your timeline, we don’t need to turn your portraits into a giant production either. We can sneak away, make some magic, and get you back to your guests, because your wedding day isn’t supposed to be one enormous photoshoot. You’re supposed to actually experience it!
And then there are the animals… 🐐🐓
Okay. Possibly one of my favourite parts. Near the main house you’ll find goats and chickens. From my experiences photographing weddings at Jarrahfall, they’re very friendly and generally quite interested in finding out what everyone is up to. Is having chickens at your wedding an essential requirement when choosing a venue? Technically no. Would I personally consider it a fairly significant advantage? Absolutely!
